     Underwing, 2 Small Mottled Willow and Scarce Bordered Straw (p), Dorothy had 12 DSG at Dungeness ..
     They both had around 200 Large Yellow Underwing, which usually results in discussion as to whether
     sudden large numbers appearing over the area are a 'hatch' or the result of immigration, away from 
     Dungeness there were no numbers to the traps, considering the accompanying migrants it would seem
     they are immigrants .. Brian had Portland Moth (p) at Greatstone ..

   22nd. The last few days have seen a pleasant increase in the numbers and species of moths to the
    traps, though the only thing of note has been the frequency and numbers of Rustic Shoulder-knot (p) ..
    Keith had 11 at the back of New Romney on 20th .. DSG there the same night and 3 Silver y last night ..
   15th. Strong wind and heavy rain overnight .. 
   14th. Calm overnight .. good showing of moths to the traps .. over thirty species at the shingle sites .. 
    of note .. Keith had Seraphim (p) at Dungeness .. 
   13th. Since the first, weather not been conducive to moths at the traps .. first week nice days very cold
    nights, then a spell of strong, vicious easterly winds .. few moths to the inland traps .. seemed more at
    the shingle sites as numbers boosted by Light Feathered Rustic .. commoner moths stealing an appearance
    in dribs and drabs. Last night was calm and relatively mild with a few more moths to see .. of note Dorothy
    had Sand Dart (p) at Dungeness .. DSG at two Dungeness sites 5th, Silver Y Lydd 13th ..
   1st. Tawny Pinion (p) and DSG at the back of New Romney .. milder overnight the last few days .. few
    more moths to the traps than of late ..

    Greatstone .. status is vagrant but they usually turn up in southerlies so may be a migrant .. Mullein (p)

    Romney, the latter and Streamer (p) at Dungeness ..

    March
    Although the weather has felt more spring like recently the nights have been hovering around the zero
    mark and sometimes below .. Ted had an unusually early Pale Tussock (p) on the stormy night 3rd with
    Dark Chestnut .. Clouded Drab at Dungeness, Brian had Yellow-horned (p) at Greatstone on 6th .. 
   12th. Last few days have seen an increase in Hebrew Character at Dungeness .. Common Quaker and
    Early Grey appearing ..  We have learned recently that the Light Knot Grass that Keith had in July last
    year has been identified as Scarce Dagger .. it was picked up from a photograph that David took which
    was to be published in Atropos. With the aid of a lens the dot in the stigmata can be seen which Light
    Knot Grass doesnt have .. the black lines extending out to the termen are more marked and angular
    and the hindwing darker compared to the latter .. 
   18th. always slow to the start of the year .. moderate numbers of 'quakers' .. Dorothy had 42 Hebrew
    Character 14th .. at Dungeness 15 Clouded Drab (p) 15th .. also of note at Dungeness .. Yellow-horned
    13th, 15th and two sites 16th .. March Moth 15th .. Red Chestnut (p) 16th ..
   22nd. last few nights have been cold with morning frosts .. milder last night with a few more moths to the
    traps .. of note Lead-coloured Drab (p) at Dungeness and Lydd and Pale Pinion (p) at Dungeness ..
   28th. not too many moths to the traps lately .. Powdered Quaker (p) from 25th at Dungeness, Red
    Chestnut there 26th ..
