    24th. The last week started with cold nights .. since then we've had some breezy nights .. not too many 
    moths at the traps .. sprinkling of Delicate, upto 4 at Dungeness .. Dorothy had Pearly Underwing and
    Large Ranunculus (p) at Dungeness last night ..

    14th. Deep-brown Dart (p) at the back of New Romney .. few more autumnal species appearing .. Sallow,
    Black Rustic, Autumnal Rustic .. traps mostly full of Large Yellow Underwing ..
    13th. Marsh Mallow Moth (p) in Lydd ..
    12th. Dewick's in Lydd .. Centre-barred Sallow (p) at the back of New Romney ..

    7th. Hoary Footman in Lydd .. the warm nights this month have seen as many, if not more, than nights in
    August and September .. a few of the autumn species appearing .. Lunar Underwing, Feathered Brindle,
    Hedge Rustic (p), Feathered Gothic (p) .. some very large Chinese Characters ..
    5th. Delicate and pink Vestal (p) at the back of New Romney .. Gem in New Romney .. 2 bistriatella in
    Lydd ..

    over the area .. Small Waved Umber at Dungeness (p) .. Jill had Dingy Shell (p) in Lydd ..
    1st-3rd. Like July .. passed unremarkably .. sprinkling of Small Ranunculus over the area.

     July.
   30th. Barry had Small Scallop (p) at Greatstone.
   28th. Sprinkling Silver Y, ferrugalis over the area .. Pearly Underwing at Dungeness.
   27th. Double Kidney (p) at Greatstone .. Waved Black (p) at the back of New Romney.
   26th. Josh had Scarce Chocolate-tip at Greatstone .. he, like many of us, didnt run because of the weather
   ..  it was attracted to the porch light at the front of the house.
   25th. Purple Thorn (p) at the back of New Romney.
   24th. Barry had Porter's Rustic (p) at Greatstone
   22nd. Josh had Clay Triple-lines (p) at Greatstone.
   21st. Lunar Thorn (p) in Lydd.
   19th. Considering the weather a few moths to the traps .. Small Yellow Wave (p) at Littlestone .. sprinkling
   of Silver Y, noctuella and ferrugalis over the area .. Sean had Dewick's Plusia (p) at New Romney .. Keith
   had Scarce Chocolate-tip (p) in Lydd.
   17th. Plumed Fan-foot (p) at Littlestone.
   16th. Sean had Silver Hook (p) at New Romney .. Dorothy had Ear Moth (p) at Dungeness. Josh had the
   pyral cicatricella (p) at Greatstone.
   15th. Ted had Maple Prominent in Lydd .. Dorothy had Slender Brindle (p), Bordered Straw at Dungeness.
   Rosy Footman (p) and noctuella at the back of New Romney .. noctuella in Lydd. Six-belted Clearwing (p)
   11 attracted to lure east of Denge Marsh.
   14th. Last couple of nights have been pleasant at the traps with a more seasonable amount of species and 
   some good numbers .. all normal stuff with nice things to look at .. Magpie (p) .. Starwort (p) .. few Pine
   Hawks (p) .. Dorothy has boosted her meagre total of Sussex Emerald (p) .. she had 21 last night .. 20
   biviella in Lydd is the most seen to date .. but mostly common stuff .. of note Double Lobed (p) at the back
   of New Romney .. repandana (p) there too .. few adelphella (p) over the area .. David had lancealis at
   Dungeness .. where Keith had Pearly Underwing. Langmaid's (p) at Greatstone. Sean had limbata at
   New Romney.
   12th. Bit of a breeze kept catches down on the coast .. more at the inland sights .. Small Dotted Buff (p)
   back of New Romney .. 11 biviella in Lydd .. still getting the odd Delicate and ferrugalis.
   11th. Last few nights with a few more moths to the traps .. few Clancy's Rustic .. Leopard Moth (p) and
   Coronet at the back of New Romney .. first July Highflyer (p) and Pale Grass Eggar (p) at Dungeness.
   White Satin Moth (p) in Lydd on 10th.
   Unsettled weather for the last week .. plenty rain and wind .. some nights traps not run .. limited species
   and small numbers .. some nights the commonest species have been hawk-moths .. probably the only
   things strong enough to fly in this weather ..

    June. 
   The last few days of June were very unsettled .. lots of rain and wind .. catches well down .. few Small
   Ranunculus in Lydd .. Miller (p) in Lydd 29th.
   25th. Clouded Brindle (p) in Lydd.
   24th. Good weather for those inclined not to believe in global warming .. bad for those gardeners who have
   planted Mediterranean sun loving plants .. not too good for moths either.
   23rd. Small increase in Silver Y .. sprinkling of Delicate .. Bordered Straw at Dungeness. Brussel's 
   Lace (pic) at Greatstone.
   22nd. Jill had Dotted Rustic in Lydd. Josh had Crescent Dart (pic) at Greatstone.
   21st. Weather still very unsettled .. Coronet (p) and the pyral limbata at Littlestone.
   20th. limbata at Greatstone.
   19th. Torrential rain overnight .. a few sights with no power .. sprinkling of Delicate, Gem in Lydd, Bordered
   Straw at Dungeness. Scallop Shell and Rosy Wave (p) in Lydd.
   18th. The pyral limbata at Greatstone.
   17th. Jill had Dotted Rustic (p) in Lydd. David had Striped Hawk at Dungeness.
   16th. Not quite so wet as some parts of the country .. windy .. not too many moths to the traps the last
   couple of nights .. Striped Hawk at the back of New Romney and the Tebbs in New Romney .. they also
   had the pyral perlucidalis.
   15th. David had Striped Hawk at Dungeness.
   14th. Barry had Striped Hawk-moth on the Rspb Reserve and Dorothy had another at Dungeness. Rosy
   Marbled (p) at the back of New Romney. The pyral lancealis (p) in Lydd, simplicella (p) at the back of New
   Romney, Barry had limbata at Greatstone.
   13th. Dorothy had Striped Hawk-moth (p) and David had Scallop Shell (p) at Dungeness. The pyral
   biviella (p) in Lydd .. the Tebbs had limbata (p) at New Romney. Ted had Cypress Carpet in Lydd.
   12th. Pale Oak Beauty in Lydd. Sprinkling of Delicate and ferrugalis over the area.
   11th. Grass Rivulet at Dungeness. The pyral adelphella (p) at Littlestone.
   10th. Green Arches at the back of New Romney. Dorothy had Four-dotted Footman (p) at Dungeness.
   Clancy's in Lydd.
   9th. Green Arches (p) in Lydd. Barry had Cypress Carpet (pic) at the Rspb Visitor Centre. He also had
   Spinach (p) and a late Early Grey at Greatstone where Josh had Varied Coronet (p).
   8th. Keith had Maple Prominent (p) in Lydd and Small Seraphim (p) at Dungeness. Barry had 2 Orange
   Footman at Greatstone. The pyral perlucidalis (p) at New Romney.  Delicate in Lydd .. sprinkling 
   of ferrugalis over the area.
   6th. Pale Oak Beauty (p) at the back of New Romney.
   5th. The pyral ahenella (p) at the back of New Romney.
   4th. The Tebbs had Clancy's Rustic (p) at New Romney.
   3rd. Barry had Netted Pug (p) at Greatstone and Large Nutmeg (p) at the Rspb Visitor Centre .. Small 
   Clouded Brindle (p) at the back of New Romney .. Orange Footman (p) at Greatstone.
   2nd. Shore Wainscot (p) and Small Ranunculus (p) in Lydd. Silver-ground Carpet (p) Lydd and New 
   Romney.
   1st. Sprinkling of ferrugalis over the area.

    May.
   31st. Delicate at the back of New Romney. Dorothy had Grass Rivulet (p) at Dungeness. Sean had Pine
   Carpet (p) at New Romney.
   30th. Delicate and 2 ferrugalis in Lydd.
   27th. The last few days have been northerly, rainy, a bit cold overnight with few moths to the traps ..
   noctuella at the back of New Romney.
   24th. Sand Dart (p) at Dungeness and New Romney. Delicate (p) in Lydd . Dorothy had Channel Islands
   Pug (p) at Dungeness. Pearly Underwing in Lydd.
   23rd. Pale Tussock (p) at the back of New Romney.
   19th. 2 DSG at the back of New Romney. Barry had Pale Tussock at Greatstone.
   18th. Sandy Carpet (p) at the back of New Romney.
   17th. Gem in Lydd.
   16th. Poplar Kitten (p) at the back of New Romney. DSG and ferrugalis at Dungeness.
   15th. Been quite wet the last few days .. small increase in Silver Y over the area. Pearly Underwing at New
   Romney.
   13th. Fox Moth (p) in Lydd .. the first recorded off the shingle ..
   12th. Wind went round to the south overnight .. few more species than of late at the traps .. Dorothy had
   Dark Sword-grass and ferrugalis at Dungeness.
   11th. Blowing a gale from the west .. very few moths to the traps .. Lunar Double-stripe (pic) at the back of
   New Romney.
   Wind from the north east and cold to 7th then south westerly and wet .. not much at the traps .. of note
   Nut-tree Tussock (p) at the back of New Romney on 3rd. Jill had Pale Tussock in Lydd 5th. Early Fox 
   Moth at Dungeness

    April. 
  1st. Oak Beauty and Pale Pinion (p) in Lydd.
  4th. Richard had Brindled Beauty (p) at Greatstone.
  5th. Twin-spotted Quaker (p) in Lydd. Northern Drab at Greatstone.
  8th. The first night with things other than 'quakers' appearing .. Tawny Shears, Knot Grass, Pebble and
  Swallow Prominent at Dungeness.
  9th. Dorothy had Northern Drab (p) at Dungeness .. Pine Beauty in Lydd. Pearly Underwing at Greatstone.
  10th. Another Northern Drab at Dungeness. 
  13th. Sean had Freyers Pug (p) and Pearly Underwing at New Romney. Josh had Tawny Pinion at 
  Greatstone.
  18th.The last few nights have been cold .. not so many moths as in the past week with the commoner
  moths putting in their first appearance .. nothing special .. of note .. Northern Drab, 2 at the back of New
  Romney 13th, Brindled Pug (p) in Lydd 15th, Red Chestnut (p) at Dungeness 16th .. few more Pine Beauty
  than usual in the area .. 3 on 13th and 4 on 16th in Lydd. Pearly Underwing at Greatstone 18th.
  21st. Jill had Lunar Marbled Brown (p) in Lydd.  
  23rd. Barry had Coxcomb Prominent (p) at Greatstone.
  24th. Dorothy had Early Tooth-striped (s) at Dungeness.
  25th. Fox Moth (p) at Dungeness.
  26th. Sean had ferrugalis (p) at New Romney.
  28th. Josh had Brindled Beauty and Scarce Chocolate-tip (p) at Greatstone. The Tebbs had Figure of 
  Eighty (p) at New Romney.
  29th. White-point (p) at Dungeness.
  30th. Barry had Lesser Swallow Prominent (p) at Greatstone.

    March.
  Cold spell in the third week .. numbers of 'quakers' low for the month .. mostly single figures .. Hebrew 
  Character .. max 23 at Dungeness 14th .. max Common Quaker 23 at Dungeness 28th .. few Powdered
  Quaker from 23rd .. Lead-coloured Drab at Greatstone 21st and at  Dungeness 28th. Of note:-
  16th. Engrailed (p) at Dungeness.
  23rd. Yellow Horned (p) at Dungeness.
  26th. Oak Beauty (p) at Greatstone.
  29th. Tawny Pinion (p) at New Romney and Dungeness. Ted had Pearly Underwing in Lydd. Early Muslin
  Moth in Lydd.

    February.
  Three sites on the coast and one in Lydd running all month .. 
  1st. Pale Brindled Beauty at Dungeness. Angle Shades at Greatstone.
  6th. Satellite at Greatstone.
  10th. Satellite Greatstone.
  16th,17th. Pale Brindled Beauty Dungeness.
  18th. Pearly Underwing Lydd .. Mottled Umber and Pale Brindled Beauty at Dungeness.
  19th. Angle Shades and Satellite at Dungeness.
  20th. Dorothy had Double-striped Pug and Pearly Underwing at Dungeness and the first Hebrew of the year.. 
  Common Quaker in Lydd. 
  21st. Dorothy had DSPug and Gem at Dungeness .. thereafter a few Hebrew and the odd Common Quaker
  at the traps until the end of the month.

   January. 
  According to weather reports, January was supposed to have been above average temperatures .. we had a 
  few of the winter species on a couple of dates.. Chestnut, Satellite .. Richard had Pearly Underwing 3rd 
  and Angle Shades 7th at Greatstone .. Silver Y in Lydd 16th ..
