       November.
      Dastardly weather brought mothing to an abrupt stop at the end of October. Of note in November .. few
      Delicates at Greatstone to 3rd .. peppering of Pearly Underwing, ferrugalis and noctuella during the 
      month .. Josh had Cosmopolitan on 2nd at Greatstone, David had White-speck on 12th at Dungeness.
       
       October.
      30th. Sean had vitrealis at New Romney. Dark Arches at Littlestone.
      29th. Dorothy had ramburialis (p) at Dungeness, where David had 4 Gem and 2 Vestal. Keith had
      vitrealis in Lydd. Josh had Cosmopolitan and Blair's Mocha and Richard had White-speck at Greatstone.
      27th. Migrants at Dungeness .. very few (very few moths) elsewhere .. total of 11 Vestal, 10 Gem at 3 
      traps there, and David had Silver-striped Hawk-moth (p) .. large increase in noctuella .. Dorothy had 100,
      David had over 200 and 35 ferrugalis. Convolvulus at Littlestone.
      26th. Barry had White-speck at Greatstone.
      25th. Keith had Flame Brocade (p) and Dorothy had Cosmopolitan at Dungeness. Simon Davies, the 
      assistant warden at the bird observatory caught a Crimson Speckled (p) by day at Dungeness (26th) ..
      24th. Sprinkling of Gem, Vestal, Scarce Bordered Straw .. Josh had Merveille du Jour at Greatstone.
      22nd. Dorothy had Cosmopolitan at Dungeness.
      21st. .. windy and wet here the last few days .. not many moths to the traps .. Sean had Cosmopolitan
      and vitrialis at New Romney .. 
      17th. Tawny Pinion at Dungeness. Keith had 4 Gem and Red-green Carpet (p) in Lydd. Slight increase
      in Silver Y and ferrugalis at the traps .. sprinkling of Delicate. Ted had Merveille du Jour (p) in Lydd.
      16th. Pale-lemon Sallow at the back of New Romney.
      15th. Peppering of the commoner migrants in small numbers at many of the traps .. highlight has been
      the pyral H.licarsisalis (p) that Colin had in Lydd on 11th. Several Dusky-lemon Sallow and another
      flush of Clancy's .. Colin had 17 on 14th which is the highest count we've recorded.
      10th. Ted had Vestal in Lydd .. liberal sprinkling of migrants to the traps .. Gem, Convolvulus, Delicate
      and Pearly Underwing .. a few Scarce Bordered Straw after a couple of days absence .. vitrealis at 
      Greatstone and Lydd. Clancy's having another flush the last few days .. 5-7 at several traps .. Colin
      had 12 in Lydd ..
      9th. 3 Gem, 3 Convolvulus, Ni, 8 Delicate, vitrealis in Lydd and Barry had 2 at Greatstone.
      8th. Ni (p) in Lydd. Gem at Dungeness. Peppering of Delicate, Pearly Underwing .. Clancy's in Lydd and
      Littlestone. David had Beautiful Gothic at Dungeness (p).
      7th. Dorothy had Gem at Dungeness.
      6th. Colin had Cosmopolitan in Lydd.
      5th. Convolvulus at Littlestone.
      4th. Colin had vitrealis in Lydd.
      3rd. Slight increase in Pearly Underwing .. 2-3 at several traps .. Cosmopolitan at the back of NRomney.
      2nd. David had Plumed Fanfoot at Dungeness. The pyral catalaunalis at the back of NRomney.. vitrealis 
      in Lydd. A few SM Willow, SB Straw and Delicate (max 8 in Lydd) over the area .. 2 Convolvulus in Lydd.

       September.
      30th. A few Delicate, SB Straw, SM Willow and Pearly Underwing at the traps. Dorothy had Vestal at
      Dungeness .. Convolvulus and vitrealis in Lydd. Barred Sallow (p) at the back of NR. Keith Tailby and 
      Mark Hammond trapping at the Long Pits (stiff wind calmed for a few hours after midnight) .. they were 
      running 8 MVs .. 600 Black Rustic, 18 Delicate, 3 Gem and The Passenger .. they also had a late 
      White Spot.
      28th. Dorothy had The Passenger at Dungeness. Gem in Lydd .. upto 5 Delicate and 2-3 SB Straw at
      a few of the traps .. 13 Clancy's at Littlestone. Nigel Gill trapping at the orchard in Lydd and had 4 
      Clancy's and Fout-spotted Footman .. just over 30 Clancy's recorded in the area. Barry had the pyral
      sticticalis (p) at Greatstone.
      27th. Forecast looked good .. not as warm as they forecast .. peppering of Convolvulus, Delicate and
      SB Straw .. 8 Clancy's at Littlestone. Julian was trapping in a small orchard on the northern edge of 
      Lydd and had 9 Clancy's and a female Four-spotted Footman.
      26th. Double figures of Delicate at several traps .. Vestal and SM Willow in NRomney .. Gem at 
      Dungeness .. 3 Convolvulus in Lydd. 
      25th. Cooler overnight .. far fewer moths at the traps .. Ni at the back of NRomney, Hoary Footman and
      Pale-lemon Sallow (p) at Littlestone.
      24th. Sean had Blair's Mocha and Plumed Fanfoot at New Romney. Keith had The Passenger at
      Littlestone .. he also had 3 Cosmopolitan in Lydd and catalaunalis at the back of NRomney. Maximum
      concentration of migrants in Lydd .. Delicate 13, SB Straw 8, Convolvulus 2, SM Willow and Bordered
      Straw. Julian was trapping at the Long Pits and had 2 Blair's Mocha, Golden Twin-spot (p) Clancy's,
      Four-spotted Footman and Cosmopolitan .. he also had 6 SM Willow .. Dorothy had 2 also and 3 at the 
      back of NR. 22 Clancy's from 5 of the inland trap-sites. Deep-brown Dart (p) and Dusky-lemon Sallow 
      at the back of NR. David had the pyrel simplicella (p) at Dungeness.
      23rd. Peppering of the usual migrants over the area .. biggest concentration at the back of NR .. Gem,
      24 Scarce B Straw, 2 Vestal, 8 Delicate, Convolvulus and catalaunalis. Colin had Hoary Footman (p) 
      in Lydd. Richard had Ni at Greatstone. Josh had Dusky-lemon Sallow at Greatstone. Clancy's in Lydd, 
      Littlestone, Greatstone and  Dungeness. Julian Clark was trapping at Lydd roundabout hoping to catch
      Clancy's and had Blair's Mocha.
      22nd. Dorothy had Ni and Gem at Dungeness. Female Four-spotted Footman, Gem, Convolvulus and
      Dusky-lemon Sallow at Littlestone. Peppering of Delicate, max. 14 at Dungeness, Small Mottled Willow,
      max. 4 at the back of NRomney. 3 Clancy's in Lydd.
      21st. Wind eased at mid-night .. calm until early on 22nd then blew hard again. Marked increase in
      Delicate .. 4 or 5 at most traps, max. 9 in Lydd, where Keith had 2 Vestal and Plumed Fan-foot (p). A 
      few Pearly Underwing, maybe a slight increase in noctuella. Clancy's in Lydd and at Dungeness.
      20th. Vestal and Delicate in Lydd. Delicate at Dungeness .. still 3-4 SBStraw at some of the traps.
      19th. Gem and Convolvulus in Lydd. Vestal at Littlestone. Few Delicates at some of the traps. Colin 
      had Clancy's in Lydd.
      18th. Peppering of Pealy Underwing .. Delicate at Dungeness .. Vestal at Littlestone.
      17th. David had Blair's Mocha at Dungeness. Cosmopolitan and Ni Moth at the back of New Romney.
      Peppering of Convolvulus, Delicate, Small Mottled Willow, SB Straw and an increase in DS Grass
      and Pearly Underwing (David had 10 at Dungeness) over the area. Clancy's in Lydd and at Dungeness.
      16th. Keith had Ni and 2 Cosmopolitan in Lydd. Dusky-lemon Sallow at Dungeness. Josh had another
      catalaunalis at Greatstone. Clancy's in Lydd.
      15th. Stiff northerly with little at the Dungeness traps. Similar species to last night .. though increase
      in numbers in some areas .. at Greatstone Barry had 4 Convolvulus and 14 SB Straw and Josh had 
      22 SB Straw .. he also had catalaunalis. Clancy's at Greatstone, Lydd and New Romney.
      14th. 1-5 Scarce Bordered Straw at most traps, David had 10 and Dorothy had 9 at Dungeness with 10 
      at the back of NR. Barry had 2 Convolvulus at Greatstone, with 1 at Dungeness and 1 in Lydd. Sean had 
      Cosmopolitan at NR. Keith had Four-spotted Footman (p) and Vestal in Lydd and A.catalaunalis (p) at
      the back of NR. 1-2 Delicate and 1-3 Pearly Underwing at most of the traps. 
      13th. Localised heavy rain .. a few power cuts .. Dorothy had 3 Convolvulus and Delicate at Dungeness.
      Delicate and Dusky-lemon Sallow (p) in Lydd. Sean had Marsh Mallow Moth (p) at New Romney.
      12th. The Passenger (p) at Littlestone. Vestal in Lydd. Peppering of Scarce Bordered Straw, Pearly
      Underwing and Small Mottled Willow over the area. Clancy's Rustic in Lydd.
      11th. David had Pale Shoulder and Cosmopolitan and Dorothy had limbata at Dungeness. The pyrals
      vitrealis and limbata in Lydd.
      10th. David had The Passenger (p) and Convolvulus at Dungeness. 5 Scarce Bordered Straw in Lydd.
      Sean had limbata in New Romney.
      9th. Sprinkling of Delicate, Gem, Bordered, Scarce Bordered Straw and and Pearly Underwing over
      the area.
      6th. Convolvulus in Lydd. Sean had Cosmopolitan and Delicate at New Romney. Keith had Vestal and
      Purple Marbled (p) at Dungeness. Colin had limbata in Lydd Peppering of Pearly Underwing over the 
      area.
      5th. Peppering of Pearly Underwing, a few Scarce Bordered Straw.
      4th. Convolvulus in Lydd. Josh had 9 Scarce Bordered Straw and Richard had Cosmopolitan at
      Greatstone. David had Clifden Nonpareil (p) at Dungeness.
      3rd. The first couple of night were very wet and windy .. no-one ran on 2nd .. few migrants last night .. 
      Dorothy had Vestal and Porter's Rustic at Dungeness, Colin had Gem and Delicate in Lydd, Delicate at
      Dungeness and the back of New Romney where there were also 7 Scarce Bordered Straw and Heath
      Rustic (p).
 
       August.
      30th. Striped Hawk at the back of New Romney. Plenty of moths at the traps .. mostly LY Underwing ..
      over a hundred at several traps ..  1-2 Scarce B Straw at most traps, few Pearly Underwing, Bordered
      Straw and Small Mottled Willow over the area.
      29th. Cosmopolitan at the back of New Romney.
      28th. Sean had Ni Moth in New Romney.
      27th. Barry and Dorothy had Cosmopolitan at Greatstone and Dungeness. Josh had another Dotted
      Clay at Greatstone. 
      25th. Clay Triple-lines and Small Ranunculus in Lydd.
      24th. Josh had Porter's Rustic (p), Ni Moth and Dotted Clay (p) at Greatstone. Delicate in Lydd.
      23rd. David had another Blair's Mocha and Dorothy had Striped Hawk at Dungeness. Barry had Gem
      at Greatstone. Keith had Cydia amplana (p) in Lydd.
      22nd.  Keith had Cosmopolitan in Lydd and at the back of New Romney. Patchy .. 6 Scarce Bordered
      Straw and 4 Small Mottled Willow in Lydd .. only a few elsewhere. David had 4 Pearly Underwing at
      Dungeness.
      21st. Ted had Striped Hawk in Lydd. David had Blair's Mocha (p) at Dungeness. Josh had Rest Harrow 
      at Greatstone.
      20th. Cosmopolitan (p) at the back of New Romney. The pyral vitrealis (p) in Lydd.
      19th. The pyral truncicolella (p) at Littlestone.
      18th. Keith had The Mocha (p) and The Suspected (p) at the back of New Romney. Of note, of the 
      peppering of migrant species over the area, Dorothy had 10 DSGrass at Dungeness.
      17th. Few more Latticed Heath .. Dorothy had 9 at Dungeness. Striped Hawk at Littlestone. Barry
      had Gem at Greatstone.
      16th. Arrival of Latticed Heath over the area .. recorded from most traps, 6 at Dungeness, 5 at 
      Greatstone and in Lydd and at the Rspb reserve. Dorothy had Gypsy Moth and Rest Harrow (p) at 
      Dungeness. Pretty Chalk Carpet at Littlestone 
      15th. Ni Moth in Lydd.
      14th. Keith had Gypsy Moth (p) at Dungeness. Great Brocade in Lydd and at the back of N.Romney.
      Area still peppered with Scarce Bordered Straw (Josh had 5 at Greatstone) and Small Mottled Willow, 
      noctuella and ferrugalis.
      13th. Great Brocade in Lydd.
      11th. Colin had Ni Moth and Narrow-winged Pug in Lydd.
      10th. Sean had Great Brocade and Peach Blossom at New Romney. Ni Moth at the back of New
      Romney. Barry had Lesser-spotted Pinion (p) at Greatstone. Narrow-winged Pug (p) at Littlestone. 
      Peppering of Scarce and Bordered Straw, Small Mottled Willow, DSGrass and a marked increase in
      ferrugalis over the area.
      8th. Barry had Pale Shoulder at Greatstone.
      7th. Barry had Tamarisk Peacock (p) at Greatstone. Josh had Ni at Greatstone and Keith had one in
      Lydd.
      6th. Ni Moth at the back of New Romney. Josh had Ni Moth and the pyrel cicatricella at Greatstone.
      5th. Andy and Maggie had Great Brocade at the RSPB moth night and one at their trap in N.Romney ..
      Keith had 3 in Lydd. Dorothy had Ni Moth and David had 3 Scarce Silver Y at Dungeness. Josh had 2
      Ni at Greatstone.
      4th. Great Brocade at the back of N.Romney and at Littlestone. Keith had Scarce Silver Y at the back
      of N.Romney and 2 in Lydd .. Ni Moth here too. Colin had Pretty Chalk Carpet in Lydd.
      3rd. Sean and the Tebbs had Great Brocade (p) in New Romney, Andy and Maggie also had another Ni.
      Barry had 2 Scarce Silver Y (p) at Greatstone and Keith had one at the back of N.Romney. The pyrel
      tumidana at Littlestone. Increase in noctuella and ferrugalis and a peppering of Scarce Bordered Straw
      over the area.
      2nd. Lunar Thorn (p) at the back of New Romney. The Tebbs had Ni Moth in New Romney.
      1st. Richard had 3 Scarce Bordered Straw .. in perfect condition as though just emerged. The Tebbs 
      also had 2 at New Romney. Wind still stiff catches down.

       July.
     31st. Stiff south westerly and rain overnight has brought species and numbers tumbling. Sean had Ni 
     Moth at New Romney.
     30th. Dorothy had Pale Shoulder at Dungeness (p). Barry had Vestal at Greatstone.
     29th. Andy and Maggie had the pyrel silvella (p) at New Romney .. new for the area and the county. Keith
     had Dewick's Plusia (p) in Lydd. TLBeauty at Littlestone and the back of New Romney.
     28th. Tree-lichen Beauty at Littlestone, Pearly Underwing at the back of New Romney.
     27th. Ni in Lydd and at the back of N.Romney. Double Kidney (p) at Dungeness. Still getting DSG, Small
     Mottled Willow, Bordered and Scarce Bordered Straw and noctuella over the area. Colin had Vestal in
     Lydd.
     26th. Ni Moth at the back of New Romney. Tree-lichen Beauty, Sub-angled Wave and Large Twin-spot
     Carpet at Littlestone. Most of the migrant species .. DSG, Small Mottled Willow and Bordered Straw
     are in mint condition and are most likely locally bred.
     25th. Keith had 2 Ni Moth and Nut-tree Tussock (p) in Lydd. Josh had Tree-lichen Beauty at Greatstone.
     Sub-angled Wave at the back of New Romney. The Tebbs had Ni and Tree-lichen Beauty at N.Romney.
     24th. Barry had Jersey Tiger (p) on the Rspb Reserve. Clancys in Lydd. Josh had Rivulet (p) at 
     Greatstone. Silver Y everywhere during the day, several HBHM at Dungeness on the Vipers Bugloss .. 
     Sprinkling of SM Willow, DSG and Scarce Bordered Straw over the area.
     23rd. Barry had Vestal and Scarce Bordered Straw at Greatstone. 2 Black Arches (p) at the back of
     New Romney. Keith had Scallop Shell (p) and Silver Hook and Colin had Small Scallop (p) in Lydd. The
     Tebbs had Dotted Fan-foot at New Romney. Increase in Silver Y .. Josh had 101 at Greatstone .. 
     Small Mottled Willow, noctuella over the area .. ferrugalis in Lydd. 
     22nd. Sean had Ni Moth at New Romney. Barry had Dotted Footman, both he and Josh had Mere
     Wainscot at Greatstone. Sprinkling of Small Mottled Willow, DSG and noctuella over the area but the
     numbers of Silver Y have fallen off. (the Tebbs had Mere Wainscot trapping at a site near to their house).
     21st. Barry had Tree-lichen Beauty and Bordered Straw at Boulderwall. Sub-angled Wave at Littlestone.
     Mere Wainscot at Dungeness. Colin had 6 Small Ranunculus and Clancys .. and Keith had the pyrel
     obductella (p) in Lydd. Small Mottled Willow and Pearly Underwing at the back of N Romney where 
     there were 180 Silver Y .. the most recorded but all the traps having good numbers. Sprinkling of DSG
     over the area.  
     20th. Sean had Mere Wainscot (p) at N Romney. Josh had Scarce Bordered Straw, Vestal (p), Ni Moth
     and the pyrel basistrigalis (p) at Greatstone. Ni Moth at the back of New Romney. Few Langmaids over
     the area, 2 at Littlestone.
     19th. Dorothy had Northern Rustic (p) and the pyrel pulveralis (p) at Dungeness. Josh had the pyrel
     cicatricella (p) at Greatstone. Silver Hook (p), Lunar-spotted Pinion (p) .. 110 Silver Y, Small Mottled
     Willow, DSG and Pearly Underwing at the back of New Romney. Barry had limbata at Greatstone.
     Few Sussex Emerald (p) and Pigmy Footman (p) at the inland sites, the former having a good year.
     18th. Sean had August Thorn (p) at New Romney. Small Purple-barred at Littlestone. Colin had 4 Small
     Ranunculus, sylvestrella and tumidana in Lydd. Peach Blossom at Greatstone. Matthew Deans was
     trapping at the top of the Long Pits and amongst the 80 odd macros was Tree-lichen Beauty (p), 
     Sub-angled Wave and the pyrel lancealis (s). Peppering of Langmaids over the area.
     17th. Gem (p) at the back of New Romney, Littlestone and Lydd, Small Mottled Willow at Littlestone,
     peppering of noctuella over the area. 4 Small Ranunculus in Lydd, single at Littlestone. Dark Umber at
     Greatstone. Jill had Goat Moth (p) in Lydd. Sean had Small Purple-barred at New Romney.
     16th. The Greatstone boys seem to be cleaning up at present .. Barry had Crescent Striped (p) and
     Small Purple-barred (p) .. Josh had Plain Golden Y (p), Sandy Carpet, Green Silver-lines and Langmaids ..
     Richard had Orange Moth. Sean had Clancys and tumidana (p) at New Romney .. Dark Umber at the 
     back of New Romney. Stricking Dun-bar (p) at Littlestone was worth a picture (p)
     15th. Josh had Dark Sword-grass, Langmaids and Dew Moth (p) at Greatstone. Clancys in Lydd. Dark
     Umber (p) at Littlestone. Peppering of noctuella and Blackneck (p) over the area.
     14th. Delicate at the back of New Romney, Large Twin-spot Carpet (p) at Littlestone.
     13th. Stiff north-easter the last couple of nights .. catches down .. slight but noticeable increase in 
     Silver Y, Pearly Underwing (12th) at the back of New Romney, Scarce Bordered Straw in Lydd, peppering
     of noctuella over the area.
     11th. Small Yellow Wave, Green Silver-lines and Langmaids at Littlestone. Double Lobed and Small
     Ranunculus in Lydd. The pyrel palealis (p) at Dungeness and Lydd.
     10th. Sub-angled Wave (p) at Littlestone, few Small Ranunculus in Lydd. Barry had Silver Barred at
     Boulderwall.
     9th. Josh had Small mottled Willow and 2 Dotted Fanfoot (p) at Greatstone. Colin has had 1-2 Small
     Ranunculus on the last three nights.
     8th. Dorothy had Lobster Moth and Slender Brindle (p) at Dungeness. Josh had Clancys at Greatstone.
     7th. Lesser Cream Wave (p) in Lydd.
     6th. Sean had 3 Small Mottled Willow and the Tebbs had a single at New Romney. Barry had Purple
     Clay at Greatstone. Colin had Small Ranunculus in Lydd.
     5th. Keith had Brussels Lace (p) at Littlestone, Langmaids (p) at Dungeness, Silver Barred at Littlestone 
     and the back of New Romney. Josh had Feathered Beauty (p) at Greatstone.
     4th. Josh had Dotted Rustic (p) and limbata .. Barry had Waved Carpet (p) and 2 sylvestrella (p) at
     Greatstone. Sean had Green Arches (p) and limbata at New Romney. Colin had 3 Small Ranunculus
     in Lydd. Small Mottled Willow at Littlestone. Beautiful Golden Y (p) and Purple Clay (p) at the back 
     of New Romney. David had Twin-spot Carpet (p) and limbata at Dungeness. Andy and Maggie had Small
     Ranunculus, Spinach (p) and Satin Lutestring (p) in with the 91 species they had at New Romney.
     3rd. In with the 90 species Josh had at Greatstone were Orange Moth (p) and Varied Coronet (p) .. Barry
     had Dotted Footman (p) at Boulderwall .. Keith had Red-necked Footman and Pretty Chalk Carpet in
     Lydd. Barry at Greatstone and Andy and Maggie at New Romney had the pyrel betulae (p). David had
     Clouded Buff (p) at Dungeness.
     2nd. Plenty of moths at the traps .. 60-70 species at the inland sites .. bit breezy at Dungeness keeping
     catches down. Few things we dont see too often .. Coronet (p), Marbled White-spot (p) at the back of 
     New Romney, Small Yellow Wave (p) at Littlestone. Marked increase in the number of pyrels .. over 20
     species at a few sites .. few biviella and formosa (p) and limbata in Lydd .. peppering of adelphella (p)
     over the area .. repandana (p) at the back of New Romney, Greatstone and Littlestone where Keith had 
     verellus (p) and Colin also had one in Lydd. Josh had Buff Footman (p) at Greatstone.
     1st. Green Silver-lines (p) at Littlestone. Colin had Clancys Rustic in Lydd. Andy and Maggie caught an 
     ab Buff Ermine (p) at New Romney on 29th of last month which is quite smart.

      June.
     30th. Delicate (p) at Boulderwall, peppering of Bordered Straw and ferrugalis over the area.
     29th. Josh had Silver Barred (p) at Greatstone, Pete had Striped Wainscot (p) at Boulderwall .. Small
     Ranunculus in Lydd.
     26th-28th. Cool overnight the last few nights. Dorothy had Ni Moth (p) at Dungeness 26th .. last night of 
     note .. Small Ranunculus and Double Lobed (p) in Lydd. Andy and Maggie had Clancys Rustic (p) 
     at New Romney.
     25th. Small Mottled Willow in Lydd. 
     24th. Colin had Dingy Shell (p), Small Mottled Willow and Small Ranunculus (p) in Lydd. Dorothy had 
     Small Ranunculus at Dungeness.
     23rd. 20th-22nd was very windy .. not too many moths to the traps .. peppering of Bordered Straw,
     Pearly Underwing and ferrugalis. More last night .. nothing of note .. Keith counted 110 Shears and
     Dorothy 106 Dark Arches (p) at Dungeness. 2 Dark Sword-grass at the back of New Romney. Barry had
     Sandy Carpet at Greatstone.
     19th. David had another Eastern Bordered Straw (p) at Dungeness.

     17th. Bordered Straw at most of the traps.. Small Mottled Willow at New Romney and in Lydd .. Pearly
     Underwing at the back of New Romney .. noctuella in Lydd. Sean had perlucidalis (p) in New Romney,
     Miller (p) at the back of New Romney.
     16th. Small Mottled Willow, Scorched Wing (p) and Sand Dart (p) at Littlestone. Josh, Keith and Steve
     Broyd had Six-belted Clearwing (p) at Denge Marsh by day (17th). Barry had Sub-angled Wave (p) at
     Greatstone.
     14th-15th. on 14th lots of rain overnight, last night clear and cool .. dramatic drop in overnight temps ..
     little at the traps .. the odd Pearly Underwing and Bordered Straw.
     13th. Migrants .. Small Mottled Willow at Littlestone and Dungeness. Sprinkling of Bordered Straw over
     the area, Scarce Bordered Straw in Lydd and Andy and Maggie had Eastern Bordered Straw (p) in New
     Romney. Keith had the pyral limbata (p) in Lydd. Barry had Orange Footman and Pale Oak Beauty (p)
     at Greatstone. Colin had Orange Footman and the first biviella (p) of the year in Lydd. May Highflyer 
     at Littlestone.
     12th. Migrants .. Barry had Striped-hawk Moth at Greatstone, Colin had Bordered Straw in Lydd, 2
     Pearly Underwing at the back of NR .. sprinkling of ferrugalis in the area. Sandy Carpet (p) at the back of
     NR. Peacock (p), Brown Rustic (p) and Red-Necked Footman (p) at Littlestone. Maidens Blush (p) in 
     Lydd. 33 Shaded Pug (p) at Dungeness were record numbers. Haworths Pug (p) at Dungeness and at
     Littlestone where Keith had Valerian Pug (p). Dorothy had Four-dotted Footman (p) and over 200 pyralella 
     (p) at Dungeness. David had Lobster Moth (p) at Dungeness.
     11th. Clay Triple-lines and the pyral lacustrata (p) in Lydd. Peach Blossom (p) and May Highflyer (p) at
     the back of New Romney. David had Scarce Bordered Straw (p), Bordered Straw and Pearly Underwing
     at Dungeness.
     10th. Colin had 40 Silver Y in Lydd, though few elsewhere. Josh had Clay Treble-lines (p) and Barry had
     Grass Rivulet (p) at Greatstone. Keith had Grass Rivulet and Pretty Chalk Carpet (p) in Lydd.
     9th. Noticeable increase in 'geometers' at the traps .. Silver-ground Carpet (p) in Lydd and at Dungeness,
     Treble Brown Spot (p) and Clouded Silver (p) at Littlestone.
     8th. Pleasant selection of species at the traps, though still in ones and twos .. of note .. Andy and
     Maggie had Ruddy Carpet (p) in New Romney.
     5th-7th. Last few nights have been clear with a big moon and cool .. hardly any moths to the traps 5th,
     better the last two nights. Of note .. David had Orange Footman at Dungeness. He also saw 2 Mother
     Shipton (s) during the day (8th) there.
     4th. Most people thought it was their best night so far .. 30-40 species. Small Mottled Willow (p) and
     DS-Grass at the back of New Romney, Bordered Straw in Lydd. 
     3rd. Pearly Underwing in Lydd.
     2nd. Increase in species at most sites though numbers low. Barry had 49 moths of 33 species, the 
     most common Vines Rustic (p) with 4. Bordered Straw at the back of New Romney.
     1st. Warmer last night, good numbers of moths at the shingle traps .. few elsewhere though Striped
     Hawk-moth at the back of New Romney and Orange Footman (p) in Lydd.
     
      May.
     29th-31st. Temps down to 2-3 degrees overnight with few moths to the traps .. 2 Dark Sword-grass at
     the back of New Romney last night.
     28th. Hardly any wind or rain overnight .. species in the twenties at the Dungeness and Greatstone
     sites .. of note .. Josh and Barry had Bordered Straw at Greatstone, Pale Tussock (p) at Dungeness. 
     27th. Keith and Ted had Scalloped Hazel (p) in Lydd and also one at the back of New Romney. 
     26th. The Tebbs had Fern (p) at New Romney.
     25th. Still wet and windy with mostly single figures to the traps the last few nights, though the coastal
     traps had more.. Richard had Striped Hawk-moth (p) at Greatstone. David had Speckled  Yellow (p) by 
     day at Dungeness (25th).
     22nd. Pearly Underwing (p) in Lydd.
     21st.  Quite stormy with lots of rain and strong wind .. just a few brave moths to the traps the last few 
     days ..  DSG in Lydd 18th, the Tebbs had Bordered Straw (p) on 20th.
     17th. Torrential rain overnight .. not everyone ran .. Sallow Kitten (p), Dog's Tooth (p) at Dungeness, first
     Heart and Dart (p) appearing.
     16th. Good selection of species .. 15-20 species at most traps though little of note .. Green Carpet (p)
     at the back of New Romney .. Cream-spot Tiger (p) at Dungeness .. little sprinkling of Silver Y and the
     commoner Hawk-moths.
     15th. Stiff SW overnight .. numbers down at most traps .. though still 120 Light Feathered Rustic at
     Keith's Dungeness trap on the sheltered side. Coxcomb Prominent (p) at the back of New Romney. 
     Sprinkling of Silver Y over the area .. Latticed Heath (p), the black and white form which we had for the 
     first time last year, and Ochreous Pug (p) in Lydd. 
     13th. Still a sprinkling of the spring stuff .. Common Quaker, Clouded Drab and Hebrew. Dorothy had
     Dark Sword-grass at Dungeness.
     12th. Good numbers at the Dungeness traps .. Dorothy had c250 moths of which 160 were Tawny 
     Shears, 13 Knot Grass .. 90 Light Feathered Rustic, 50 Cinnabar, Fox Moth (p) at Keith's trap .. Yellow
     Belle starting to increase. Few Puss Moth. Pine Beauty in Lydd.
     11th. Patchy .. Barry had ten moths at Greatstone .. Dorothy had 140 Tawny Shears .
     10th. More moths at Dungeness than other sites, Dorothy had 83 Tawny Shears, and Foxglove Pug (p)
     Keith had 23 Muslin Moth and noctuella (p) at Dungeness. Waved Umber (p) in Lydd. Dusting of Red
     Twin-spot Carpet (p) over the area. Dark Sword-grass at the back of New Romney.
     9th. Sean had Tawny-barred Angle (p), 2 Brindled Pug, Northern Drab and White Ermine (p) at New 
     Romney. Keith had Least Black Arches (p), Oak-tree Pug (p) and 7 Silver Y at the back of New 
     Romney.
     8th. Most traps with less than 10 moths of three or four species.
     7th. Clear after dark, even more much needed rain overnight. Sprinkling of moths at the traps .. 
     though Dorothy had nearly 30 Tawny Shears with 1 Silver Y .. Keith had Chocolate-tip at Dungeness. 
     Sean had Nut-tree Tussock (s) at New Romney.
     6th. Some much needed rain overnight. Sprinkling of Silver Y over the area. Josh had Puss Moth at 
     Greatstone. Brindled Pug at Dungeness.
     5th. Iron Prominent (p) in Lydd.
     4th. Everyone had a few moths last night with several new species for the year, nothing special .. Keith
     had Brindled Pug (p), and Light Feathered Rustic (p) .. Dorothy had Toadflax Brocade (p) and David had
     Chamomile Shark and Puss Moth at Dungeness. Northern Drab at the back of New Romney. Sprinkling
     of Brimstone at several sites.
     3rd. Chamomile Shark (p) and Pale Mottled Willow (p) in Lydd. 
     1st-2nd. Mostly early stuff still .. and in small numbers. Last night Shuttle-shaped Dart (p) in Lydd and 
     a dusting of Silver Y (p) over the area.. Dorothy had Knot Grass (p) and David had Puss Moth (p) at 
     Dungeness.

      April.
     30th. Wind fresh from the South East .. probably good for watching migrating birds on the sea at 
     Dungeness but very few moths overnight at the traps. 
     28th, 29th. Hardly any moths to the traps on 28th. Last night slightly more productive .. clear at dusk,
     rain overnight. Dorothy had Tawny Shears (p) and Keith had Pale Prominent (p) at Dungeness. Pine 
     Beauty in Lydd. Northern Drab and Mullein Shark at the back of New Romney.
     27th. Bit cool overnight, northerly wind and clear. Northern Drab, Chocolate-tip (p) and Reed Dagger (p)
     at the back of New Romney. 5 Swallow Prominent at Dungeness.
     26th. Trickle of species appearing .. Spectacle (p) and Muslin (p) in Lydd, Swallow Prominent at
     Dungeness (p). Richard had Mullein Shark (p) at Greatstone.
     25th. Doesnt seem cold .. wind SW but not many moths to the traps. V-pug (p) in Lydd, Northern 
     Drab at the back of New Romney. Early Thorn at Dungeness. Richard had Ruby Tiger at Greatstone (p).
     24th. Dorothy had Northern Drab at Dungeness. Barry had Early Tooth-striped (status) at Greatstone.
     23rd. Wind in the East .. Colin had Bordered Straw (pic) and Streamer (pic) in Lydd. Keith had Dark
     Sword-grass and Sean had another Northern Drab at New Romney.
     22nd. Clear early evening and cool, overcast and milder by dawn. Few more Powdered Quaker and
     Pebble Prominent (pic) at Dungeness. Andy and Maggie had Grey Shoulder-knot (status) at New
     Romney.
     21st. Cooler overnight .. wind back in the E. Sean had Northern Drab (pic) at New Romney.
     20th. Barry had Chinese Character (pic) and Early Thorn at Greatstone, Brimstone (pic) at Littlestone.
     19th. Wind veered SW through S overnight .. clear early .. cloudy at dawn. Double-striped Pug (pic)
     in Lydd. 6 Powdered Quaker and 4 Lead-coloured Drab at Dungeness.
     18th. Cooler overnight .. less of the few species that we are getting so far this year.
     17th. Herald (pic) in Lydd. Slight increase of Common Quaker at Dungeness.
     16th.  Few more  moths at the traps after the first noticeably mild day .. but still very slow. 26 moths
     of 5 species at Keith's Dungeness trap is the most he's recorded this year. Pine Beauty in Lydd (pic).

     Dorothy still getting double figures Hebrew, until last night when few moths at any of the traps. Josh had
     Oak Nycteolene (pic) at Greatstone.
     7th. Oak Beauty and Lead-coloured Drab (pic) at Dungeness.
     6th. Dorothy had 38 Hebrew at Dungeness .. not so many at Keith's trap but he had Red Chestnut (pic)
     and Powdered Quaker (pic).

    New Romney and Dungeness where there were 17 .. by far the most ever recorded (pic).
